Istanbul is the only major city in the world that sits on two continents, and it rewards both a quick visit and a slow one. The Old City is where most first visits begin. The Old City tour links Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, Topkapı Palace and the Grand Bazaar, and you can choose a walking-only version or add private transfers or a vehicle for the full day. For the water side of the city, the Bosphorus tour pairs palaces and the Spice Bazaar with a cruise, while the dinner cruise ends a day with a Turkish night show on the water. Two Continents crosses from Europe to Asia in a single day, and Princes’ Islands is the easiest escape from the city.

Spring and autumn are the best seasons for walking tours, while summer afternoons are better spent on the water. Note that the Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays and Topkapı Palace on Tuesdays, which our guides plan around.
