06:00Hotel Pick-up & Drive from Istanbul
Your day starts very early with a pick-up from your Istanbul hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. The Shared option runs as a small group with a licensed English-speaking guide, while the Private option gives you a private vehicle with driver and your own licensed guide. The drive to the Gallipoli Peninsula takes about five hours, with a comfort break on the way, and water and cold drinks are on board.
-
10:45Epic Promotion Center, Anzac Cove & Conkbayırı
Your Gallipoli visit begins at the Çanakkale Epic Promotion Center at Kabatepe, an immersive WWI simulation museum that sets out the background of the 1915 campaign. From there you follow the battlefields to Anzac Cove, Arıburnu Cemetery, the Lone Pine Australian Memorial and the trenches of Johnston’s Jolly, then on to the 57th Infantry Regiment Memorial, Conkbayırı (Chunuk Bair) and the New Zealand Memorial. Please dress respectfully at the memorials.
-
13:00Lunch in Eceabat & Dardanelles Ferry to Çanakkale
Lunch is served at a local restaurant in Eceabat and is included on the Shared tour; drinks are extra. On the Private tour meals are not included, and your driver can adjust the break to your own pace. You then cross the Dardanelles by ferry from Eceabat to Çanakkale; the crossing is short and offers views of the strait.
-
14:30Guided Visit to the Ancient City of Troy
Next is ancient Troy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with nine layers of settlement. Your guide leads you past the city walls and the Temple of Athena and explains the layers as you walk. You also stop at the wooden horse replica on the site, a popular photo spot. Entrance fees for the Troy site are covered on the Shared tour.
-
16:15Troy Museum
Next to the site stands the award-winning Troy Museum, opened in 2018. Its galleries display finds from the excavations along with exhibits on the legend of the Trojan War. Your guide points out the main pieces and links them to what you saw at the site, and the museum entrance is included on the Shared tour. On the Private tour, entrance fees are not included.
-
17:30Return Journey to Istanbul
Now comes the drive back to Istanbul, about five hours, with a comfort break on the way. Drop-off at your hotel is at around 22:30, which makes the full day about 16–17 hours from the 06:00 pick-up. Exact timing depends on the day; on the Private option stops and timing are flexible.
Places Along the Route
Anzac Cove
The beach where the Anzac landing began on 25 April 1915. Today it is a calm stretch of coast beside the road, with memorials marking what happened here.
Lone Pine Australian Memorial
The main Australian memorial on the peninsula, standing among graves on a ridge fought over in August 1915. Pine trees now shade the site that once gave it its name.

57th Infantry Regiment Memorial
This Turkish memorial honours a regiment that lost almost all its men defending the ridge on the day of the landing. A tower and rows of headstones stand on the hillside.

Troy Archaeological Site
A UNESCO World Heritage Site where nine layers of settlement lie on top of each other, with city walls and the remains of a sanctuary. It is the place linked with the story of the Trojan War.

Trojan Horse Replica
Standing in the grounds, this wooden horse brings Homer’s tale of the hidden Greek soldiers to life. It is the site’s best-loved photo stop for families and groups.

Troy Museum
The museum next to the site opened in 2018. Its galleries set finds from the digs, such as pottery and reliefs, alongside displays on the legend of the Trojan War.
Arıburnu Cemetery
A small Commonwealth cemetery on the slope above Anzac Cove. Its headstones record the young Australians and New Zealanders who died in the landing and the days after it.
Conkbayırı
Known to the New Zealanders as Chunuk Bair, this high ridge saw bitter fighting in August 1915. Turkish and New Zealand memorials now stand on it, with open views over the peninsula.

Why Visit Gallipoli and Troy
Gallipoli is where the 1915 Çanakkale campaign unfolded over eight brutal months of WWI, and where the ANZAC legend was born as Australian and New Zealand troops landed alongside British, French and Ottoman forces. Today the peninsula is a national historic park: quiet cemeteries, preserved trenches, and monuments like the Lone Pine Memorial and the 57th Infantry Regiment Memorial stand only meters apart from where the fighting actually happened. Troy, on the other side of the Dardanelles, is the archaeological site widely identified with the city of Homer’s Iliad — a UNESCO World Heritage Site with nine layers of settlement spanning roughly 4,000 years. The adjacent Troy Museum, opened in 2018, displays artifacts recovered from the excavations alongside exhibits on the Trojan War legend.
18 March: Çanakkale Victory
On 18 March 1915 the Ottoman coastal batteries drove back the British and French fleets trying to force the Dardanelles, a victory that changed the course of the war. The land campaign that followed left the sites visited today, such as Conkbayırı and the 57th Infantry Regiment Memorial. Commemorations are held on the peninsula every 18 March; if you plan to travel on or around this date, book early, as places fill quickly.
ANZAC Day at Gallipoli
Every 25 April, Australian and New Zealand visitors gather at Gallipoli for the Dawn Service at Anzac Cove, followed by ceremonies at Lone Pine and the Chunuk Bair memorial. It’s the busiest period of the year on the peninsula, with road closures and site access tightly managed around the official program – exact ceremony times and access rules are confirmed closer to the date. If you’d like to be there, let us know early: ANZAC Day tour dates fill up months in advance.
